I cannot decide on my wedding colors or flowers. I have no eye for design and I cannot decide what looks good together. I am getting married in May 2008 on the beach and then having a reception when we return home to Minnesota. I would like a beach theme and I know I want some kind of blue for one color, but I don't know what to match with it. I also know that I want white Calla Lillies as one of my flowers but I am not sure what to match with it. I want to carry the beach theme to my reception as well. Any ideas? Thanks
Contact me through my website and I can send you lots of blue beach theme pictures. Just blue and white would be beautiful, and green will be present anyhow in flowers and greenery. But there are many other colors that you can add if you want an accent--lavenders, yellows, pinks, greens, sand tones, red, orange--all would look nice.
If you google images of beach weddings, the colors you notice in all the pictures are that beautiful ocean blue color and the soft sand color. Plus, almost all of the grooms are in all white. I think if you pick a shade of blue you like (or really a variety of blues since the ocean isn't just one color) and a cream color, you will have a very beautiful, classic beach feel. You could use your white calla lillies and some cream colored ones as well, mix them together in some of your arrangements.
I think if you pick Beachy colors and carry slight elements of the beach into your decorations, you'll achieve a very classy beach theme without going over the top. For centerpieces you could use large round vases, pour sand in the bottom, then fill them with water (give them plenty of time to settle so you don't have murky water, then add a fish or two, and some tealights sitting around the base, you could have very beautiful centerpieces.
These would be beautiful and fun too.
My first thought is blue, white, and aqua. You could carry white callas with a colorful handtied. I definatley think you could do white callas for centerpieces, maybe in tall vases with jsut a few callas. You could even add blue rocks in the vase. Also, you could put sea shells all over your tables. There are lots of ways to incorporate the beach into your reception. Heres some pictures!
